You can’t lead your business to the next level of success until you have these 3 steps firmly in place, so let’s break it down one by one.

1. Goals

You are the only one that can define what success means to you, and that means your goals will be as unique as you are! Many people base their goals around revenue, but that’s certainly not your only option.

Your goals should reflect the way you want to run your business AND the way you want to live your life, and that goes far beyond a dollar amount. Think about how you want to spend your valuable time and set goals that allow you to work and live the way you want to.

Don’t hesitate to set big, hairy goals that scare you a little bit. It might seem overwhelming at first, but that’s okay because we’re going to break it down into a series of smaller, more manageable goals that ultimately lead to major success.

2. Planning

You can’t reach that big, hairy goal without a plan! You’re going to create an action plan for each and every one of those smaller, short-term goals you identified.

Your planning approach should include step-by-step actions to reach each goal, but don’t get too bogged down in the details. You want a map to your goals, but it doesn’t have to include EVERY detail you’ll pass along the way!

3. Implementation

Once you’ve got your plans in place, it’s time for the fun part- implementation! You’re going to start taking those action steps you mapped out in the planning phase and tracking them carefully to guarantee that you don’t stray from the path to your goals.

Set up the KPIs and metrics that help you measure the efficacy of each step of the implementation process and be prepared to repeat this step for every new action plan along the way. Before you know it, you’ll have reached your big, hairy goal and you’ll be on your way to your next amazing accomplishment!
